SEEWQCI was presented at the ESA ScyLight Conference 2026, held from 2–4 June 2026 in Tenerife, Spain. The 9th Annual ScyLight Conference brought together European and Canadian industry leaders and subject matter experts to present the latest advancements in optical and quantum communication technologies under ESA’s Optical & Quantum Communications – ScyLight strategic programme and beyond.
The conference offered a dedicated forum for stakeholders to exchange ideas, share knowledge and explore future directions in optical and quantum communications. The programme included concise pitches, expert talks from industry and ESA representatives, and insights from leading voices in the satellite communications market.
During the conference, Dr. Bob Dirks, Quantum Technology, TNO, representing SEEWQCI Project consortium, delivered a presentation titled “Towards a space-enabled Pan-European Quantum Network”. The presentation highlighted SEEWQCI as a CEF co-funded project contributing to Europe’s transition from strategic ambition to real deployment in quantum communication infrastructures. Led by GRNET, with TNO and key European partners contributing to its execution, the project represents an important step towards a sovereign European quantum communication infrastructure.
